As always, there are lots of interesting stories emerging and they should be folllowed to supplement our horse racing tips.
Of great significance today is that Our Vic has been handed top weight for the Paddy Power Gold Cup on Saturday. The David Pipe-trained runner will carry 11st 12lb and is currently 33/1 with Ladbrokes to claim the win. At such a large price, there will be plenty of racing tips for the horse and as he performs well at Cheltenham he may attract some clever each way money.
Racing at Cheltenham this weekend will also see a clash between Well Chief and Master Minded. The meeting of these two superb animals will take place in the Connaught Chase on Sunday and both David Pipe and Paul Nicholls will be expecting a very close contest.
In other news, Henry Cecil is considering the possibilities of a serious challenge by Twice Over in the world's most valuable race, the Dubai World Cup on 27 March. Following an impressive third place behind Zenyatta in the Breeder's Cup Classic, Twice Over has will return to Warren Place shortly and assuming all is well then training will continue apace with a view to a crack at the title in Dubai. It may well be worth a small punt closer to the time.
Horse racing meetings are being held today at Exeter, Lingfield and Sedgefield.
