Sea The Stars dominates Cartier Awards

In what was perhaps the most obvious and well-deserved award of the season, Sea The Stars has been named as the Cartier Horse of The Year.
The John Oxx-trained wonder-horse picked up the title at a star-studded ceremony held at Claridges last night where the winners were decided following voting from expert panel and the readers of the Racing Post and Daily Telegraph.
The winner of the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe finished his career thsi year having gained victories in six Group 1 races, all of which were followed closely by the vast majority of horse racing tips.
The Christopher Tsui-owned runner also won 'Three-year-old of the year' whilst trainer John Oxx was won the Award of Merit.
Breeder's Cup Mile winner Goldikova won the Older Horse award and Racing Post Trophy winner St Nicholas Abbey was named 'Two-year old of the year'.
Yeats won the stayers' award, Fleeting Spirit the sprinters' award and Special Duty and Sariska won the 'Two-year-old filly' and 'Three-year-old filly' awards respectively.
The meeting at Hexham has been abandoned today as a result of waterlogging but racing takes place at Kempton, Lingfield and Market Rasen.
