Betfair Chase Latest
19.11.2009
The build up to the Grade 1 Betfair Chase at Haydock this Saturday continues at pace with positive news for the two favourites for the race, Kauto Star and Notre Pere.
Kauto Star performed brilliantly at a warm up yesterday and immediately drew in a large number of racing tips as a result. The double Gold Cup winner had lost support in the betting market with more rain and wind forecast for the weekend but trainer Paul Nicholls soothed any fears with a strong indication that the horse was in tip-top form.
The nine-year-old Clive Smith-owned runner is not a great lover of the testing conditions but has the class to rise above the problems to start as favourite.
The main challenger appears to be the Jim Dreaper-trained Notre Pere who loves heavy conditions and this has been refelected in the betting odds, with the mudlark now best priced at 2/1.
Others taking the horse racing tips focus include Halcon Genelardis.
Horse racing meetings are being held today at Hereford, Huntingdon, Kempton and Wincanton.
